ART IN MOTION
COMING MARCH 24, 2018!!
Each year, Green Hope High School, in partnership with the Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA), host ART IN MOTION, a competition for Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion Ensembles. This event is held at our school and draws up to 10,000 guests to our campus. This event is our largest fundraiser of the year with revenue from both ticket sales and concessions. Our own Winter Guard and Indoor Percussion Ensembles perform at this event.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
The purpose of the Green Hope High School Band Programs is to educate young people through music performance. Students are motivated through teamwork, performance objectives, and evaluation to mature as musicians, as students, and as people. The curriculum is varied and cyclical in nature. The comprehensive program encompasses four years of high school study. Individual development of character, esteem, teamwork, and group accomplishment can be additional rewards of the program.
The locally and nationally recognized band program at Green Hope High School consists of several excellent, ongoing ensembles including: Concert Band and Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Winter Guard, Winter Indoor Percussion, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band as well as solo opportunities. Over 200 students participate in these programs every year, performing for community concerts, regional and national competitions, school sports and arts events, and local, regional and national competitions.
The Green Hope High School Band graduates outstanding young musicians and citizens, many of whom move on to world-class music programs nationwide or pursue careers in either part-time or full-time music performance.
Band is the experience of a lifetime! There is nothing like that feeling when you play the entire show for the first time as an entire band... or when you walk off the field after the first competition. Band changes you in the most unexpected and enriching ways. I wouldn't be me without it!"
